Ingredients

For the burgers
600 gr. ground beef from flank, once passed through the machine
2 medium sized onions grated
3 tbsp. ketchup
a little vinegar
Sea salt
Freshly ground pepper
For the Caramelized Onions
4 medium sized onions cut into thin slices
3 tbsp. fine olive oil
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Sea salt
freshly ground peppers
MATERIAL COMPOSITION
4 round buns for hamburger
8 slices of cheddar cheese or gouda cheese
8 slices of baked bacon in a non-stick pan or toaster
4 slices of Tomato
4 slices of tender lettuce leaves
4 slices of turkey
pickled cucumber

Burger with caramelized onions

An extravagant burger…

The best burger to enjoy by the sea with cool beer and nice company… The truth is that we are allowed to get away for a while and make small exaggerations.

The bread that we will choose to “close” the burger can be a round buttery brioche or sesame bread.

The sunset in Sergoula, Fokida

At Sergoula beach, in Fokida, as soon as the sun went down, we enjoyed an incredible burger with all-round fries. We sprinkled them with fragrant mountain oregano and next to it we put mustard and extra ketchup. If we are going to “cheat” we may as well go all the way…

In a large bowl we put the ground beef, onions, vinegar, ketchup sauce, salt and pepper and we knead vigorously until the ingredients are homogenous. We cover the bowl and we leave it in the fridge for 2 hours.

We divide the ground beef into 4 parts and we shape 4 burgers.

We bake the burgers on the grill and we put a pan with a little water underneath.

We let them cook for 6-7 minutes on each side and we turn it with the tongs.

The burger should stay a little juicy so it is even tastier.

We put a slice of cheese on each burger and we bake for another minute until it melts evenly.

We prepare the onions.

We put the onions in a deep pan and we leave them on low heat for 10 minutes, maybe even longer until they turn brown. We add the balsamic vinegar and salt and we leave until caramelized, stirring with a wooden spoon. We add salt and pepper.

Using a bread knife, we cut each bun in half. We bake for 2 ′ and buns on the grill

At the base of the Burger we put the lettuce, the turkey, the tomato, the burger with the cheese and on top two slices of bacon and the caramelized onions.
