Cake with poppy seeds

Diversity cake

The poppy seeds have a unique aromatic flavour and is beneficial for our organism. It is a source of the B vitamin complex  such as thiamine, pantothenic acid, pyridoxine, riboflavin, niacin and folic acid. The seeds are particularly rich in oleic and linoleic acids. The oleic acid is a monounsaturated fat that helps reducing the bad LDL cholesterol and increases the levels of good HDL cholesterol in the blood.

The cake contains hazelnuts and almonds that are also beneficial for our organism due to their antioxidant attributes.

If we want the cake a little bit more syrup , we can splash all over it with a light syrup.

Nana cooked this unlikely cake that I had first tasted in Leros and I was fascinated.

The recipe is yours.
