Cocktail shrimp in avocado

A fresh and delicious salad

Efi prepared a very tasty salad with shrimp, a nice sauce and avocado which is considered superfood. The truth is that avocados are very beneficial and we need to include them in our diet as it overflows with nutrients necessary for the proper functioning of our body. The exotic avocado, which is now cultivated in Crete too, is also known as “buttertree”. It comes from Central America and Mexico.

Sunset in Houlakia, Mykonos

Avocados are rich in monounsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids – two types of good fats that are believed to have cardioprotective properties. They have powerful antioxidants that protect us from free radicals and boost our immune system. They also contain more fiber, potassium, magnesium, vitamins B, E, K, iron and zinc than other fruits. It also offers 18 essential amino acids to our body for protein synthesis.

The part of the avocado that is near the skin is the one that contains the highest concentration of nutrients. We must also not forget that avocados help in the anti-aging and hydration of our body.

It goes very well with shrimp and is eaten fresh.
