Ingredients

1 kilo mussels fresh
1 dry onion finely chopped
2 cloves garlic chopped
80 ml white wine
1 Tomato cut
4 tbsp. chives chopped
40 g butter
20 ml balsamic vinegar
3 shots olive oil
salt
Freshly ground pepper

Dreamlike mussels

 

Kleidi is famous for its mussels and blue crabs. We picked the mussels and had the executive chef of the Delliniko restaurant cooked them for us . Because he was very fond of their quality, he decided to add them to his menu.

Thereby the Macedonians who live in Athens would taste mussels from their place at Delliniko,  especially cooked by Makis Mertzakis.

We give you the recipe which is perfect for the Lent.

Fresh steamed mussels

Wash and clean the mussels well by cutting the moustache.

In a deep pot sauté in medium heat the olive oil, the onion, garlic and mussels.

We throw away all the mussels that do not open.

We deglaze with white wine and allow to evaporate.

Then we cover the pot to steam.

Leave for 3 minutes and finally add the balsamic vinegar, tomato, butter and chive.

We stir the pot to thicken the sauce and serve.
