200 gr powdered sugar
400 ml sour cream
1 tbsp. powdered sugar
2 vanilla or 2 vanilla sticks
200 gr almonds without the skin, finely chopped
zest of 1 lemon dewaxed
1 tsp cinnamon powder
300 gr ladyfinger biscuits
Grand Marnier Orange Liqueur or brandy
2 gelatin sheets
100 gr almond fillet or roasted broken almonds
powdered sugar for sprinkling

It does not become easier

From a young age I loved this cake, I found it very tasty and our aunt Eleni always made it on holidays and we always put a candle on New Year, an opportunity to “extinguish” the old year with its good or bad.

In remembrance of this event we put a candle in this cake…

It is very easy to make and if we want we can add in the middle and pieces of canned pineapple that I really like or even some winter blueberries, raspberries to give a more festive taste. The basis of the recipe is the same, we just put a few fruits inside and on the surface.

You can also wrap it with an all-red ribbon to make it even more festive.

I give you the main recipe that is so easy to make by everyone.

We put the gelatin sheets in a little water and we let them soak.

In the bucket of the mixer, we whisk the sour cream, a spoonful of powdered sugar and we add the gelatin until we have a rich whipped cream. We put it in a bowl.

In the bucket of the mixer, we beat the butter strongly with the whisk until it "fluffs". Slowly we add the yolks and sugar and we continue beating.

We add the almonds and half the whipped cream and we mix with the rubber spatula gently until the cream starts to thicken.

Towards the end we add the vanilla, the lemon zest and the cinnamon.

At the base of the cake form we put a layer of ladyfinger biscuits, we sprinkle them with the liqueur and we let them absorb a little.
