Ingredients

1 cup sunflower oil
2 cups Coarse semolina
3 cups granulated sugar
4 cups bottled water
150 gr. almonds peeled
100 gr. black currant
75 gr. pine
Grate 1 fresh lemon
Ceylon cinnamon powder

Marika’s halva

Fasting and delicious

A very easy and delicious sweet that has been recorded in the DNA of all Mediterranean people. This delicious creation belongs to the so-called “poor cuisine” since it is made with low cost ingredients, but they have nutritional value. In halva we can add the nuts we love, but also use olive oil.

The beautiful Folegandros with the hotel Vrahos on the beach Karavostasi.

We can sprinkle it with Ceylon cinnamon but also with coconut. Also if we want, we can add spoon sweets cut into pieces, your choice.

A delicious dessert for the fast of the 15th of August.

We put the water with the sugar in a saucepan and as soon as it starts to boil, we stir and boil for 3 minutes.

In a large saucepan, we boil the oil and we add the almonds and pine nuts to brown.
