Traditional recipe of the Evia’s fisherman

Evia and especially in the area of N.Artaki, are known for their fish and shellfish. Along the beach in many ouzeries and taverns, you will enjoy them with ouzo or local wine. Because Euboikos has many currents the waters are very clean and the fish significantly tasty. Do not forget to try the traditional frying bread but also their kurabiedes, which are delicious, without powder sugar on top and in great shapes. At the Folklore Museum of N. Artakis, you will learn a lot about the life in the past of the people who came from Artaki of Asia Minor. Lets not forget that the area is incredibly near to Athens and deserves a getaway of gastronomic experience and not only.

In a saganaki, brown the shrimps with olive oil and with a grabber turn them on both sides.

Once they get color we add our favorite tomato sauce with basil or pepper.

Add the mustard, the oregano, salt, and the peppers.

Once boiled, add the pieces of cheese.

Shake the saganaki and serve.
