Ingredients

1 cup strained yogurt 2%
150 ml olive oil fine, local
150 gr Feta cheese cut in big pieces
100 gr. Graviera cheese grinned
70 gr. kaseri cheese ginned in big pieces
3 eggs
400 gr. self raising flour
Herbs from our mountains
wild oregano
Thyme
A little star anise grounded
fennel seeds
For the finish
sesame
Black sesame seeds
For the hands
Ouzo

Favorite taste for every moment

 

The small cheese pies that impressed me and they are prepared very fast without the use of filo.
They are easy, simple and are full of taste.
 
I tasted them for the first time at Evia, at Petries at the breakfast of the hotel Argo. They make them every morning and are awesome… “I make them again and again” Dimitra told me and pleasantly I watched her during the process  and we baked one batch together.
 
I think that you have to make them today… without procrastinating… your kids will love them.

 

Round small cheese pies

Steps

In a bowl we mix all the ingredients together with our hands until they are homogenized.

We pour slowly the sieved flour and knead it hard until the dough is easily kneaded.

We sprinkle the aromatic herbs and mix them.

We cover the bowl with kitchen membrane and place them in the fridge so the aromas will emerge.

Then we let them in room temperature and knead the small cheese pies with our hands that we wet them with ouzo and give them round or oval shape.

In a baking pan we place non-stick cooking paper and place the small cheese pies with 2-3 cm distance between them.

We sprinkle sesame and black sesame seeds.

We bake in a well preheated oven at 190°C for 25 min.

We take them out of the oven without covering them and after 10 min. we serve them.
